🔧 What is SafePave®?

SafePave® is a range of tile reinforcement systems for pedestal or raised floor installations, designed to reduce tile breakage and prevent injury or structural damage.

🔧Who is SafePave® for?

SafePave® is a risk minimisation product that protects the owners of the building from costs associated with breaking tiles. Customers are usually Strata Managers, Architects, Facility managers, Councils, Schools and anyone responsible for maintaining raised tile surfaces. The product is usually purchased through tile installers, online or through selected tile suppliers.

🔧What is SafePave®

• "SafePave® - Reinforcement Tape for pedestal tiles -(SPRT)" is an engineered, high tensile, high adhesion, patented tape that is applied to the underside of the tile. It is designed for new and previously installed tiles.

• SafePave® - Structural Support- (SSS) is a composite board with the patented SPT2 peel and stick tape for easy installation to natural stone tiles.

• SafePave® - Structural Support - Elite (SSS-E) is the premium product in the range. It consists of a 16mm 17.5mm composite board with the SPT2 tape. It is currently undergoing final testing and official results will be available prior to the product release. This product is designed to incorporate wind uplift protection, insulation, anti-vibration and hopefully allow the use of thinner tiles.

🔧Installation

• Can I install SafePave® myself?
  Yes. SafePave® is designed for DIY or professional installation, requiring minimal tools or training.

• How long does it take to install SafePave®?
  Less than 2 minutes for existing tile installations to be lifted, treated with "SafePave® - SPRT", and reinstalled. Other ranges can be even quicker.

• Can SafePave® be applied to already-installed tiles?
  Yes. SafePave®– SPRT is made specifically for retrofitting existing tiled areas without changing tile height.

• Will I need adhesive, grout, or waterproofing?
  No. SafePave® is applied to the underside of lifted tiles. No subfloor or membrane work is required. The underside of the tile should be clean and dry

• Does SafePave® increase tile height?
  SafePave® – SPRT adds less than 1mm, SSS adds up to 4mm and SSS-E adds 18mm.

⚙️ How Does SafePave® Work?

SafePave® works by transforming fragile pedestal-supported tiles into reinforced, impact-resistant panels—without altering their appearance. SPRT is able to do this without changing the finished surface height making it ideal for retrofit situations.

At the core of the system is a high-strength anti-tear tape (and in some models, a rigid support board). The tape features an advanced pressure-sensitive, specifically developed adhesive designed to bond directly to the underside of porcelain or stone tiles.

Once applied, SafePave® creates a reinforced layer that:

• Distributes impact loads more evenly

• Prevents tile breakthrough by holding cracked tiles together

• Bridges microcracks and stops them from spreading

• Adds tensile strength to the tile—up to 90% improvement in some tests

The system installs in minutes with no curing, no adhesives to mix, and no mess—making it suitable for both new installations and retrofitting existing tiled decks.

🔧Performance and Safety

• How does SafePave® improve tile strength?
  It increases impact resistance and tensile strength by distributing load and holding cracked tiles together—up to 90% improvement in crack resistance.

• What happens if a tile breaks with SafePave® installed?
  The tile stays intact and in place, avoiding sharp edges, falling through, or exposing the underdeck.

🔍 What’s the Difference Between SafePave® - Reinforcement Tape(SPRT), Structural Support (SSS) and Structural Support - Elite (SSS-E)?

Together, they form part of a system designed for pedestal tiles and pavers, to strengthen, reduce breakages and make safer. Each product in the range focusses on a particular issue and addresses that issue. Starting with "SafePave®- Reinforcement Tape", which was developed to enable retrofitting of existing pedestal tile installations without changing the surface height. It can also be applied to new tiles before installation and increases tile strength and crack resistance.

The next range, SafePave® Structural Support, was designed to increase the support required for natural stone tiles. It combines the flexible reinforcement of SafePave® - SPT2 with a thin, rigid support board to address the brittleness and variability of natural stone, offering greater structural stability.

Finally, SafePave® - Structural Support - Elite (coming soon) is the most advanced system. It was developed to solve as many issues currently faced with pedestal tiles that could be identified. It incorporates all the benefits of reinforcement plus additional features such as wind uplift protection, thermal and acoustic insulation, and compatibility with thinner or oversized tiles. It transforms pedestal tiles into a fully integrated safety and performance system.

Yes. "SafePave®- Reinforcement Tape" is a fast, clean, and non-disruptive solution that can, in most cases, be installed while the business is open. Each tile is simply lifted, cleaned, reinforced with SafePave®, and returned to its original position—all without noise, dust, or downtime. The entire process typically takes less than two minutes per tile, allowing work to proceed discreetly while your business remains open and operational.
