SafePave Structural Support - Elite

Engineered, pressure sensitive, fibreglass reinforcing tape designed to strengthen brittle flooring materials used in new and existing tile installations

"Stronger. Smarter. Safer."

Patent pending

SafePave® Structural Support - Elite (SSS-E) was developed for new tile and paver installations. It was designed to provide the highest level of protection against risks that are normally associated with pedestal tile systems. It provides additional advantages over other systems by incorporating multiple issue solutions into one product.

Product Description

SSS-E combines a pressure sensitive, woven fibreglass reinforcement with a microcellular ixpe impact absorbing layer with a modified acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive backing. This has been factory installed to a specially designed, lightweight composite rigid board. It is designed to adhere directly to the underside of porcelain and natural stone tiles.

SSS-E is an 18mm thick, cut to size rigid composite board with peel and stick installation. Each board weighs 1.25-1.5kg and is available in convenient packs of 15.

System Construction

  • 0.8mm GFRP structural sheet

  • 16mm High density PET Structural Foam

  • 0.8mm GFRP structural sheet

  • 1.5mm microcellular IXPE layer – stress absorption & damping

  • 200gsm fibreglass reinforcement – tensile strength & crack control

  • High-performance acrylic bonding system – full surface adhesion

  • Tile

Creates a bonded composite structural panel that includes the tile

Installation

  1. Lift tile and clean the underside using Isopropyl alcohol

  2. Peel and apply SSS-E to tile back

  3. Apply uniform pressure using roller

  4. Reinstall tile

No curing required. On-site installation is possible without dust, mess, or delays.

Testing & Validation

Tested to ASTM, ISO, AS standards
Compliant with:

  • ASTM D3330 (Peel Strength)

  • ASTM C648 (tile strength)

  • ISO 10545-4 (breaking strength)

  • AS1170.1 (structural loads)

  • UNI EN 12825 (impact tests for raised floors)

  • Plus additional tests designed for pedestal tile systems, including residual load capacity after breaking.

SafePave® Structural Support - Elite (SSS-E) is a purpose-built structural reinforcement panel that bonds to the underside of brittle paving materials (porcelain and natural stone) on raised floor pedestals. It improves on the SSS range by adding:

Purpose

  • Wind uplift control

  • Ability to use thinner tiles

  • Highest level breakthrough protection

  • Greater strength and rigidity

  • Increased anti-vibration

  • Acoustic insulation

  • Thermal insulation

SSS-E PERFORMANCE

SSS-E Has all the advantages contained in SSS, However these advantages are significantly improved with the SSS-E Range.

Higher Structural Capacity

  • Greater bending stiffness

  • Higher load capacity

  • Reduced deflection under the same load

Why:

  • Thicker composite build-up

  • PET structural core + dual GFRP skins

➡️ SSS-E delivers a true structural panel behaviour, not just reinforcement

Wind Uplift Performance

  • Designed to resist wind uplift forces

  • Improves system stability in exposed environments

➡️ Critical for rooftops, high-rise, and podiums

System-Level Stability (Not Just Tile Strength)

  • Improves entire system behaviour

  • Reduced tile movement

  • Increased mass and rigidity

  • Better interaction with pedestal system

➡️ SSS-E controls the system, not just the tile

Superior Load Distribution

  • Distributes load across a structural panel (tile + core)

Reduces:

  • Point loading at pedestals

  • Stress concentrations

  • Risk of localised failure

Enhanced Impact Resistance

  • Absorbs + redistributes impact energy

Because of:

  • Foam layer (energy absorption)

  • Structural core (load spreading)

  • Reinforcement (crack control)

➡️ Higher resistance to high-energy impacts

Improved Post-Crack Performance

  • Maintains structural integrity after cracking

Provides:

  • Residual load capacity

  • Continued load distribution

  • Reduced risk of collapse

Vibration & Acoustic Control

  • Noticeable vibration reduction

  • Improved acoustic performance

➡️ Better feel under foot + reduced noise

Ability to Use Thinner Tiles

  • Enables use of lower thickness tiles safely

➡️ Potential:

  • Cost savings

  • Design flexibility

Full System Integration

  • Integrated system solution

Combines:

  • Structural performance

  • Safety performance

  • Wind uplift

  • Stability

➡️ One product replacing multiple components
